Dear Cat lovers,
Preparations for the MFGC 58th and 59th International Cat Show, by Malta Feline Guardians Club are well on their way!! The 2 day show, will be held on Saturday 23rd April, from 15.00 to 19.00 hours, and Sunday 24th April from 10.00 to 17.00 hours, at SmartCity Malta. Two International All Breed, WCF judges will judging this show- Ms Marina Zhuravleva and Ms. Olga Belyaeva.
The show will be made up of several different breeds, including Persians, exotics, Maine coon, British short hair, sphynx, Devon Rex, Bengal, ragdolls and many others. Apart from pure breeds, this show we will also be welcoming a nice number of domestic house cats, which will be competing for a separate title known as HHP (house-hold pet). Our club is there to promote the welfare of all cats, not just pure breeds, so this opportunity is golden for cat show lovers!
Several other activities will be held respectively during these 2 days.
• We will be welcoming with us volunteers from C.S.A.F. (carers for stray and abandoned felines), who will be selling some of their merchandise and collecting any donations from the exhibitors, all in aid of their sanctuary.
• Along side them, we will also be welcoming Ms. Janice Mamo, who Is a local foster carer, who will be personally bringing cats which are looking for a home at the show venue, hoping some of them will be actually be adopted out.
• Best public opinion cat will be carried out as well during the show, where every visitor will be given a voting slip, so they can vote for their preferred cat during the show. This way, the public can feel more involved in the show, and exhibitors will find it easier to share their expertise about their pure breeds.
• A big raffle will be drawn on Sunday afternoon, with several gifts, generously sponsored from different companies in Malta. Such companies include – Pepe Nero Valletta waterfront, Piscopo Poala, Bruce pet shop Rabat, Hairways by Wayne Birkirkara, Meditteraneo Bahar Ic-Caghaq, Conimex Attard, Ta xbiex perfumery, D. Abela Trading Gzira, and Hair professionals as part of beauty Culture St. Venera. Tickets will be sold during the show on both days, and the draw will be made on Sunday Afternoon.
• Several speciality rings will be carried out during both days, including the Best Spring Cat ring, where exhibitors are invited to come up with a spring themed costume for their cats. WCF kitten, adult and neutered ring also to be held.
These events and many others, are which make the Malta Feline Guardian club’s shows, shine above all else.
